2010 In Music: Through My Lens

Blonde Redhead at The Warfield and the most amazing lighting design in the world by Jonah Strauss.

Geographer playing The Fillmore with Stars. I took this after sound check while Nate was tuning his cello.

The XX at The Fox Theater.

I waited all night, in the freezing cold to photograph Deadmau5. When he got on stage it was behind an elaborate set up that blocked the view of everyone in the press pit. So I photographed my friend Menace next to a fan with a mouse head and called it a day.

Die Antwoord, Treasure Island Music Festival. Shocking. Uncomfortable. Inappropriate. Amazing.

Arcade Fire at The Greek Theater. I couldn't begin to see over the 11 foot stage, so the security guard let me stand on the barrier. I had the best view in a house of thousands.

Film School at The Independent. A wonderful come back, by a wonderful band.

Light Asylum at Milk Bar for 120 Minutes. Thank you Marco.

Muse at Orancle Arena. I shot from what seemed like ten miles away from the stage. Still a spectacular light show.

Kill Moi at Bottom of The Hill. Ryan singing 'Januaries'. Still one of my favorite songs.

The Strokes at Outside Lands. Stangely, the most brutal press pit I have ever been in.

Empire of the Sun at Outside Lands--proved I can dance while taking photos.

Al Green at Outside Lands. He threw roses to the crowd over the top of the press pit. It was raining rose pedals on our heads.

K.FLAY at Harlot for my monthly Eclectic Live event. Female rap hero of 2010 fo sure.

Wolf Parade at The Fox Theater, with my #1 Wolf Parade friend Chloe.

Free tequila+hand cuffs+rockstars in drag= No Bunny at Milk Bar.

The Northern Key playing Bimbo's at Noise Pop. A proud moment for Tricycle Records.

Mike Deni from Geographer singing with Mirah, Kacey Johansing and Thao Nguyen at Noise Pop. Probably my #1 music moment of the year.

Ghost of Saber Tooth Tiger (Sean Lennon playing with Cornelious) at Noise Pop. I was standing next to Yoko Ono when I took this photo. Katherine and I ate her cookies after the show.

The National at The Fox Theater (also my favorite record of the year).

dear santa.

Last year I asked that the democrats control our political system and my gift only lasted a year. So this year I'd like something more tangible. That's right, hard goods.

1. Wii fit.

2. SXSW Badge

3. Vintage Style Turntable

4. Canon Telephoto Lens / 300mm

5. New Stylish Glasses

*I'd also settle for a month of rent and a plane ticket to Italy. But that is a worse case scenario.

Thanks santa. you rock!
