Halloween is a magical time to make and capture art. Although I captured these images with my camera, the true artists are the staff at Bottom of the Hill that created these amazing sculptures.  Cindy Sherman meets Hans Belmer and Marquis de Sade? Totally Surrealist. Totally amazing.

His work is the spookiest around. Joel Peter Witkins has been an inspiration to me from the time I first started making art. I once heard him speak and it was incredibly inspirational to hear the words of a man that has the power to take the most disturbing content and make it beautiful. Here are a few of my favorites. I explored this marina with a painter friend, who later changed the style of his painting to emulate the weathered and chipping paint on these boats. Sometimes, we go looking for inspiration. Sometimes, inspiration comes looking for us.
